How to Pronounce JOB American English Word of the Week
In this American English pronunciation video,
we’re going to go over the pronunciation of
the word ‘job’.
This week’s Word of the Week is ‘job’. Job
begins with the JJ consonant sound, where
the tip of the tongue is here, touching the
roof of the mouth, jj, jj, and your lips do
this funny thing, jj, jj. The vowel is the
AH as in FATHER vowel. You do need to drop
your jaw for that. Jo-, jo-. And finally,
the B consonant sound, where the lips will
come together and then part lightly for a
release. Job, job.
You did a great job.
That’s it, your Word of the Week. Try it out
yourself. Make up a sentence with the word,
record it, and post it as a video response
to this video on YouTube. I can’t wait to
watch it.
That’s it, and thanks so much for using
Rachel’s English.
