Pronunciation Book NOW AVAILABLE
It is June 9, 2015, and today is the day that
my book, American English Pronunciation, is
available. I’ve been working for months
on this book. It’s 290 pages, and each page
is going to help you speak better American
English. You’re going to understand what
you hear better, when you’re listening to
Americans, and you’re going to feel more
comfortable making the sounds and speaking
in the character of American English.
American English can be pretty hard. A lot
of words are not pronounced the way that they
look like they should be pronounced. That’s
frustrating. But in this book, we’re going
to solve a lot of those mysteries for you
so that you get it.
Maybe you’ve seen one of my videos before
and thought, “this is great, but how does
it fit into the bigger picture? Where should
I start?” This book is for you. It takes
over 200 of my videos and organizes them into
a system, into a map to help you get form
where you are to where you want to be with
your spoken American English.
This book has everything you need to know
from sounds to rhythm and intonation, the
character of American English, words that
reduce, content words, and of course, lots
of American English conversation. This book
talks about placement and how to imitate.
One of my favorite things about this book
is that you’ll learn concepts together.
It’s an integrated approach. So you don’t
learn just the sounds, then just a little
bit about rhythm and so on, but you learn
everything together. When you’re learning
sounds, you’re learning about placement.
And you’re definitely learning about rhythm
and stress because when you learn a sound,
you learn what it’s like in a stressed syllable,
and what it’s like in an unstressed syllable.
I can’t see any other way to teach them.
In addition to the videos, there are over
150 audio files with both male and female
voices. So, there’s a lot of content to
work with, both for listening practice and
for repetition practice. And that is truly
what is so important. That is what will transform
your pronunciation. Some of the audio files
are slowed down. That’s really important
because you start to listen to them in a different
way, and you’re going to notice things about
them that you couldn’t notice at regular
pace.
So, it’s a complete system to speak better
English, supported by 200 videos and 150 audio
files. It’s truly my best work: buy it! You’ll
love it, and you’ll speak better English.
If you buy the book, you get free updates
for life. So anytime I make a change to the
book or add more audio, you’ll get it free.
Go to RachelsEnglish.com/book. And now I’m
going to take you on a little tour of how
to buy the book, and how best to use the materials
that you’ll get.
To buy the book, simply go to the sales page
and click “Get the Book!” This takes you
to Gumroad, where the file is hosted for sale.
Click the button “I want this!” This takes
you to the payment page. Enter your information.
You can either pay with credit card or PayPal.
And, complete your purchase. You’ll be sent
an email that has a link to download the PDF
and the audio files. If you want, create a
password. When you click on the link in your

Gumroad website by clicking ‘read’. But,
it’s best viewed from an application that
allows you to view the bookmarks. For example,
Firefox. You can simply drag the file into
a page in Firefox, and it will load their
PDF viewer. This button here will allow you
to toggle to see the sidebar. You can either
see all of the pages in preview mode, or,
you can click this button to see the Table
of Contents. That allows you to skip around
from chapter to chapter. Click on any link
in blue to open the webpage.
There are 165 audio files that have been broken
up into four different zip files. You can
download them here after clicking the link
‘View Product’ in your email. Remember,
these are zip files. So don’t download them
to your mobile device. But download them to
your computer to unzip. Then you can put the
audio files on any of your devices.
I can’t wait to hear what you think of the
book. That’s it, and thanks so much for
using Rachel’s English.
