Can You See The Light

hi i’m vanessa from speak english with

vanessa calm have you ever worked really

hard for something and finally it was

finished that’s what we’re going to talk

about today let’s get started as many of

you know i’ve been working very hard

over the last month to create the

program 30 days of english some days i

spent 10 hours some days i spent 15

hours working and trying to make videos

and creating the content and thinking

about new ideas and how to make it the

best it could possibly be

i spent so much time on this project and

when it was finished i felt so relieved

we could say near the end of the project

i saw the light at the end of the tunnel

i knew that in a few days it would be

completed this expression i saw the

light at the end of the tunnel is a

great expression to use if you’re

working really hard for something and

it’s almost finished maybe you’re

working really hard to get a visa to

live in the US or you’re working really

hard to study for and i lter another

english test or maybe you are working

really hard because there’s a work

project that you’re trying to get

finished by the end of the week you’re

working so hard it’s like you’re running

a marathon every day you’re doing so

much and finally at the very end you see

the light at the end of the tunnel now a

tunnel is a hole in a mountain so as

you’re driving it’s very likely that

you’ve probably driven through a

mountain and this hole in the mountain

is a tunnel so when you’re driving

through a really long tunnel it’s really

dark inside I’m sure there’s some sort

of light so you can see but you’re

driving through the tunnel and at the

very end you see a little bit of light

you see some sunlight coming through the

opposite end of the tunnel that means

you’re almost finished you’re almost

through the tunnel if you can get to the

other side you will be out of the

Tunnel this is the kind of expression

that you can use to talk about working

really hard for a project or for

something so you could say uh I have

been studying for this English test for

so long I have been preparing and

working so hard and on Friday I’m going

to take the test I can see the light at

the end of the tunnel your preparation

is almost finished you’re almost there

that’s how I felt as I was working on

the project thirty days of English I

love doing this kind of work it’s not

boring or frustrating or annoying to me

even though it doesn’t always go as I

planned I think that this kind of thing

is engaging and challenging but because

I worked so hard and spent so many hours

preparing near the end last weekend I

felt like I can see the light at the end

of the tunnel finally my to-do list was

almost finished I only had one or two

things left to do I felt so relieved

that I could finally see the light at

the end of the tunnel and now that the

program is opened I am out of the tunnel

and this process has been completed so

I’m curious for you what has some what
