holiday in the United States originally
called Armistice Day Veterans Day
commemorates the men and women who
served in America’s armed forces this

the United States Marine Corps was
established on November 10th 1775 but

for members of the Marine Corps as well
most members of the Marine Corps get
some time off to enjoy this holiday
Veterans Day was briefly moved to
October in 1971 the move did not last
long and by 1978 the holiday had been
moved back to its original November 11th
