The Importance of Exercise

Hi.

This is my TED Talk on the importance of
exercise. Hello, people, my name is Sarah.

And you probably wondering why I told you
all this talking to you right now.

But I need you to know because I’ll
be talking to you about

the importance of being active
during the pandemic.

If you are a kid or an adult.

Also, you’re probably wondering
how a 12 year old knows

the importance of exercising
throughout the pandemic.

But trust me, I know why it is important.
It started of

by us only thinking we were going to
be locked down for about two weeks during

the start of the pandemic, right. Well,
we were sadly mistaken.

As you know, we have been home and
in “quarantine” for a year and

a couple of months and you probably
still aren’t that active.

I had to get active again quickly
because I’m a gymnast.

And I started going back to gymnastics a
couple of times in the summer, anyways.

I regretted not exercising
and stretching every day

and only like once a week. Because
stretching is important, too.

But when I started doing that,

I started to feel better and not feel like
my back needs to be correct every

two hours. I started to get on apps
like FitOn, YouTube and Daily Burn,

where they have yoga segments
and stretching segments,

they helped me so much. And even if
you don’t have a lot of money,

you can still go on YouTube,
which is free,

and watch some yoga stretching
or workout videos.

So what is the importance of exercising
during a pandemic?

Well, some people are home right now.

Do you work from home and
do a lot of stuff from your room?

Some people think that no one
is going to see them,

so they don’t have to eat super
healthy and or exercise

because no one is going to see them. And
that takes a toll on you later in life.

You get in the habit of all those things

and exercising is very important even when
you aren’t living in a pandemic.

But it is especially now because we aren’t
really supposed to go outside considering

this pandemic and you can’t go to a gym.

I also did some research about why
exercising is important in general.

And according to that,
exercise is important

because regular physical activity
can improve your muscle strength

and boost your endurance.
Exercise delivers oxygen

and nutrients to your tissues

and helps your cardiovascular system
work more efficiently.

And when your heart and lung help improve,

you have more energy to tackle daily
chores. Well, how can you exercise?

There are plenty of ways you can exercise,

start off by stretching so that you don’t
hurt yourself while you’re exercising.

After you are done stretching, you
can go for a walk, go for a run,

do some jumping jacks or crunches.

You can do some pushups,
sit ups, squats,

go on a bike ride or even go swimming.

Some of your favorite things
could be an exercise

and you didn’t even know. You could do it
more often and get some more exercise.

And just by doing 50 jumping jacks a day
could change your life.

Or just 10 pushups could do something too.

This in my TED Talk
on the importance of exercise.

Thank you for listening. Also,

You don’t have to take my advice,

but I think you should.

Because I know why it is important to
exercise during the pandemic. Bye!
