i’ve been a singer since i was three
years old
i performed on tv shows
broadway and became so many characters
i’m pretty convinced i landed those gigs
because of my abilities to step into
other personas
outside of my own
i found myself in a very loud world
where everything i heard was other
people’s perceptions
wishes projections
but what about me how do i
sing how do i walk
how do i breathe i
realized that i really didn’t have a
voice
and i’m the vocalist
so i distance myself from the noise
family friends
music the world
and i submerge myself into my own silent
treatment
he finally got so quiet
i was able to sit in silence and find my
rhythm recognize my own beat
get back to my own voice
i got to validate my own personal
experiences because i
sat with the good the bad
and the ugly with no background noise
and it doesn’t mean i remove my pain
it doesn’t mean i didn’t feel lonely
or confused but i had me
i had all the tools to turn my life
into my own piece of art
so i got my hands dirty
and wrote music wrote my first
album as simple
as pulling melodies out of the air
out of the silence
