shocking news for me.

Cancer affects all of us --
especially the ones that come back over and over again,
the highly invasive and drug-resistant ones,
the ones that defy medical treatment,
even when we throw our best drugs
"We're declaring war against cancer,
and we will win this war by 2015."
This is what the US Congress and the National Cancer Institute declared
just a few years ago, in 2003.
Now, I don't know about y

Sadly, about 40 percent of us will hear those three words within our lifetime,
and half will not survive.
This means that two out of five of your closest friends and relatives

Many of us have lost family, friends or loved ones
to this horrible disease.
