my name is pradeep khatiwara and i'm the
executive director at youth innovation

i'll be sharing the story that i'm
working on data
well let me begin with this flickering

in the data economy that funds much of
the internet
everything you do gets translated into
data and sold on to the highest bidder
thousands of corporations and
governments around th
exactly a year ago
when india had reported its 100th covert
positive case
a user on reddit posted this to the
site's r
india subreddit the anonymous user
described that they were preparing a
database

data exists
in many forms and is often generated by
our non-deliberate actions
when we spend time with our friends and
loved ones on social media
we're generating data about our likes
dislikes
we start out
in 2400 bc in ancient mesopotamia
it was here where the first medical text
was transcribed
a simple clay tablet with 15
prescriptions
for common ailments was listed
at this point in histo
i like to think of this as sort of a
cooking presentation right we're going
to be talking about what the ingredients
need to be to teach data science in k-12
classes i've worn a lot of different
hats
