the expression I wish I didn’t have to
do something this is a great way to
express something that you don’t like to
do maybe English learners say I don’t
like to wake up early I don’t like to do
the dishes this is true for me I don’t
like to do the dishes but I have to do
them so this means I have no choice to
do it but I have to do it so this is
where today’s expression comes in we can
say I wish I didn’t have to do the
dishes I wish I didn’t have to wake up
early it’s possible to say I wish that I
didn’t have to wake up early but we can
cut out the word that completely you
could simply say I wish I didn’t have to
wake up early what’s something else that
people don’t like to do what’s something
else that you don’t like to do maybe
it’s cold in your country in the winter
and you don’t like to go outside and
walk your dog in the winter how could we
express this with today’s expression you
could say I wish I didn’t have to walk
my dog in the winter I wish I didn’t
have to go outside when it’s so cold I
wish that my dog could do it all by
himself that would be amazing what do
you wish you didn’t have to do I want
