what’s up i’m presca and i am a
performing artist recording artist and
songwriter and producer
and i am going to play a very special
song that changed the trajectory of my
career
it’s called skin and
as a songwriter i have this kind of
unspoken
promise to be authentic
and to share the things that are the
most
fearful or scary i think the artists
that
don’t do that or don’t have a chance to
it’s very hard for them to connect with
their listeners
and this song changed my life because i
wrote it
years ago when my self-confidence was
extremely low
and i just sang it to myself as a mantra
to
feel better about myself and little did
i know the song would change someone
else’s life
when when my song came out it wasn’t my
plan
because it was such a sensitive song to
me but when it did i got
i got a lot of emails back and messages
back from
people who were listening to it and this
one lady said that
she was in a help center and they
weren’t allowed to listen to music
or do anything that could be maybe
distracting to their recovery process
and she showed the nurses my song and
they said this is the one song that you
can listen to
and she ended up not taking her own life
and so i think as an artist
i want to keep writing authentically and
from the heart
and if i if my music can change people’s
lives i am so there so i feel like
as a human and as an artist i’ve done
what needs to be done and everything
else is
icing so uh i choose to continue to
write authentically
and my album is coming out next year and
this song just released on my live album
this year without any more hesitation
this is my song skin and i hope it moves
you to speak differently
