environmental science class
for the very first time quite frankly
because i was told it was the easy
science cour

the theme for this series of talks is
count down to a better future an
opportunity to discuss ways that we can
create
a different safer greener future
and i want to suggest that nature can
hel

okay uh
thank you thank you very much indeed um
so the theme of
the theme of today's session uh is
distortion
and as i was thinking about this uh it
occurred to me that the very concept of
dis
for many in the international community
and indeed in the global environmental
community
it's probably surprising to hear that my
home country venezuela
is one of the top 10 mega biodiverse
countries

great to be here um i've had the
privilege of working with a lot of
very different leaders over the years
and
it struck me that a lot of the
lessons that i picked up from these
what kind of world are we living in
an uncertain and complex world
just take a look at this generation it's
so
different and incomparable to any other
previous generations

is how helpless it can make you feel
it's this invisible enemy

complicated yet we all tried to help
